Venice Beach, California is the only place in the world you could see a hipster riding his bicycle past a Bohemian painter selling crystal meth to a tattoo artist who just pierced the nose of a vegetarian cross-dresser. A few feet away is a body builder who tries to impress a Wiccan who would rather just watch the nearby snake charmer who is drawing onlookers away from the Hari Krishna dancers. All this gains the attention of a passing rollerblader who is chain-smoking outside the vegan market, which is owned by a palm reader who probably should have anticipated the street artist who vandalized the side of her building, which just so happens to be the very spot where Charles Manson recruited Squeaky Fromme. Across the street, a parolee picks a fight with a hacky sack enthusiast for interrupting his Haiku recital he was performing for a group of Minimalists who have grown tired of traditional Bikram Yoga now that the hipsters have embraced it. The circle of stupidity is complete.

He totally alienated all of the people who put his blog on the map, and now he’s just one more Leftist in a sea churning with hate. He has to compete with Democratic Underground and Daily Kos, you know. Fortunately, a good number of the people who once rushed to his site have long since started their own. There’s even a site dedicated to keeping an eye on him.

I used to be a regular reader of his site, but quit when he decided he liked the moonbat audience better. Ironic since they were once his nemeses. I have wondered if he still does his Fiskie awards. He certainly qualifies for the coveted Idiotarian of the Year award based on past nominees and winners.

I know he watches his referrer logs like a hawk, and he probably has search notifications so he knows when someone mentions him or his site, so this will probably come to his attention. I wonder if he has any crazy things to says about gun nuts.

And grieve for what we’ve lost as a country. I grieve because our elected government worked so hard to give us a landmark healthcare program, and we’re all too selfish and stupid to accept it. Instead of working together to continue to improve the lives of the American people, newly-elected Republicans have made it their mandate to undo the last two years of progress. And now their hateful “take back our country” rhetoric has resulted in a politician getting shot in the head.

No, Derek, conservatism didn’t have anything to do with that shooting. Why must you and your ilk go out of your way to lay blame everywhere but where it belongs?

I will now take a play from the Limbaugh playbook and illustrate absurdity by being absurd.

I have to ask why suspected shooter Jared Lee Loughner is even in custody and why he’s been charged. The plethora of “evidence” provided by various Leftist sources, whether on TV or the interwebs, clearly shows that others are to blame. And if this case goes to trial, perhaps these individuals with such an over-abundance of evidence should be called to the stand by the defense.

Clinton tried this crap after the Oklahoma City bombing, but, unfortunately for him, the people who were actually accused of the crime were charged and convicted and not those who had nothing to do with it.

Likewise, the individual accused of this crime has been charged and will have his day in court.

Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, the Republicans who control the U.S. House of Representatives, the NRA, me and whoever else the Leftist kooks want to blame for this tragedy have not been charged with a crime. Either this is a huge oversight on the part of the prosecution, or it’s because we had nothing to do with this crime. It’s obvious what a large chunk of the moonbatosphere believes.

Blaming Colonel Mustard makes about as much sense, doesn’t it?

Additionally, radical Leftists are already looking for ways to further infringe on our rights by making it a crime to say things or draw symbols that might be construed to be threatening. They want to examine our already draconian gun laws to see if they can be made more draconian. Because, as we all know, making something illegal even more illegaller will fix the problem.

I will give Derek credit for one thing, though.

We know that the murder weapon was a 9mm Glock 19 handgun with a 30-round magazine.

He knows enough about guns to call it a magazine and not a clip.

Now, we know what the Left thinks about Walmart shoppers. They’re backwoods, knuckle-dragging rednecks. They own guns. They’re skeptical of the government. They listen to Rush Limbaugh. They like to save money. Oh, the horror!

So, what I think this is really about is keeping tabs on those dangerous Walmart shoppers. See an unshaven, cammo wearing bumpkin buying ammo? Call Janet. See a guy with a Confederate Flag tattoo stocking up on canned goods and bottled water? Call Janet.

Yes, you can help keep America safe. Report suspicious activity at Walmart. It’s for America. Do you want the terrorists to win?
