I thought it was for the children.
It’s too bad for Herr Rosenthal that the U.S. Constitution doesn’t confer the right to determine what the constitution means on the pansy-assed liberals who inhabit newspaper editorial boards.
Not to make light of suicides in the military, but the anti-gun bigots are grasping at straws. They can cite various kinds of tragic events until the cows come home, but those are not legitimate reasons to infringe on the rights of Americans.
I want to be clear: the New York Times editorial board does not oppose gun ownership. We believe the Second Amendment confers a communal right on Americans to own guns – not an individual one.
Communal? That sounds a lot like communist.
Oh yeah, that’s some flame/troll bait right there.

Gun registration is merely the means and forerunner to confiscation.
And, quite franky, it’s none of the government’s business who owns guns and what kinds of guns they are.
In other words, keep your laws out of my gun safe.
